have a 99 Sebring 2.5L. It runs very rough when under 2300RPM. However, on the highway after about 20-30 miles of driving the problem seems to clear up a bit as long as Im maintaining 2300RPM or greater. Problem is intermittent. It feels like some of the cylinders are not firing. When pulling out from a dead stop or driving slow in city traffic. the car sometimes bucks, stalls or tries to stall. Starts right up again. I had the codes checked and it said multiple misfires and called out a couple of cylinders. I had the plugs, wires, dist and rotor replaced less than a year ago. Could this be as simple as a bad set of plugs or more. I had the fuel system cleaned out and ran high test gas thinking I might have got a bad tank of gas. Could this be and indication of a failed EGR sensor. I disconnected the sensor electrical connector at the vacuum canister but no change to the symptoms. So far with this vehicle my crank sensor and transmission in/out sensors have failed. What is it with the sensors on these cars?

Electrically, you seem OK because of the stuff you changed a year ago. I would lean towards air or fuel issues. When was the last time you changed your air and fuel filters? Those would be the things to replace. If still no luck, check your fuel pressure.

I had the same issue with my car.... I had a check engine light and it was the ignition coil/distributor both are one unit... Replaced that and the car ran fine at higher rpms speed...but when i came to a stop the car would want to die

I changed the egr "VALVE" on the back and this cleared up all the problems...

My car also would display misfire and crap like that.... huh a simple Egr valve
the dealer dude stold my 100 troubleshooting cost to tell me it was my ignition coil... and it ended up being the Egr....haa so is life..hope this helps

I also had a simular problem and found out it was an injector that was sticking open. Have the fuel system pressure tested and if you are loosing pressure replace the injectors.
