ive been trying to start my 94 dodge ram van for a month its the 5.9L motor

there is not power coming to the coil from wherever it comes from!
i checked the coil it works fine in another van
so does the distributor

can i bypass the problem and put 12volts directly to the coil
if i can please let me know how

i tried some speaker wire from the battery to the coil but it didnt work it just got the wires really hott and they smoked alot

the coil sparks in another van but it will not spark on the van i need to get running

sounds like you have a short in the 12v circuit to the coil if the jumper wire got really hot when trying to jump voltage to coil try checking voltage at auto shut down relay should be 2 wires with 12v at the relay if not try checking fuses or fuse links

i can not locate the auto shutdown relay and all the fuses i see in the glovebox are good

i looked for the auto shutdown relay for weeks

it's under the hood beside the battery on the firewall should be 2 relays there look a little lower if i remember right maybe below brake booster

i see 2 relays by the battery how do i do a bypass or do i have to change the relay. the other vans have the relays in a fuse box in the engine this 94 does not

one relay will have a green/black tracer and red 14gauge wires make sure the red wire has battery voltage key on and if yes when the relay is energized the red 14ga and green/black wire are connected together these are the 2 bigger wires on the relay and make sure the bigger red wire has battery voltage with key on

if i jump the green/black and the red can i bypass the relay if the relay is messed up?

remember if the crank sensor isn't giving a signal the pcm will not ground the relay

well how do i check the crank sensor for a signal? i believe the crank sensor was right next to the distributor but im not sure. there is a sensor that went inside the transmission right next the torque converter

i need some help like some advice what to do what to test to get it firing again

should i check for power at the crank sensor
check for power at the relay

i will check for power at the relay today to see is the red and the
