Truck has been runing great, then all of a sudden it died while driving last night. It would start but run very rough, and smell of fuel. Only stay running while pressing the gas pedal. Computer? injector stuck open?

Change plugs first, check for spark wires chaffed or touching each other and/or a fire wall on the passenger side. Also check under the distributor cap, R&R with the premium part which has brass contact posts. Aluminum is crap.

Check fuel pressure, then your regulator, then finally your fuel pump, the return line to your tank may be clogged also.

I wouldn't recommend replacing parts until the truck begins to run, like those guys mentioned.

Check your codes since your check engine light is probably on.

Check your exhaust for restriction.

I think it sounds like your throttle position sensor has gone bad. Hard to say.

Turned out to be a broken valve spring which caused the timing to jump. Not good news...All fixed now...$1700 later.
