86 Bird tranny ID and issues

Well, its an 86 so I figured it'd have the AOD in it, but the pan is stamped METRIC. So, not real sure what it is now. Problem is it won't shift to second till about 32-35 MPH, it acts like the TV is stuck, but im not sure. It looks to be properly adjusted based on what I've read about it so I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.
