Just a quick question.

I ordered a new 330ci with the Sport pkg. and upgraded the wheels to the 18" V Spoke style. Having taken delivery I found that the spare is a donut. I know that if I had stuck with the 17" Double Spoke wheels the spare would have been a full size wheel of the same style.

The dealer himself was unsure but came up with the suggestion that a full size V Spoke alloy would not fit in the well. I'm a bit suspicious about his suggestion, considering the a single wheel with the tyre cost approx $800.

It's a bit odd that you pay a whole lot more to get a whole lot less.

Anyone know the truth behind this?

Thanks.

If the car is the same spec as the UK model, the reason is that the fronts & rears are different sizes on the M V-spoke alloys.

8J x 18" with 225/40 tyres on the front & 8.5J x 18" with 255/35 tyres on the rear.

All the best, JT

Thanks tannertime,

It is the same spec as the UK wheels. However, as I said if you purchase the standard Sport pkg. it comes with the M double spoke wheels which also have different size front and rear wheels/tryes, and the spare is a fullsize (but, I don't know the exact spec for that wheel).

I don't think the reason is that the front and rear tires are different size. I have a 330 with the M sport package which has 225 on front and 245 on rear. The spare is a full size 225.
