99 Bonneville Moonroof InOp Question Plus a few more

I just purchased a 99 Bonny SLE with the following problems.

The moonroof doesnt work at all. I talked to the previous owner and he stated that it working Intermittently more times not, so he just didnt use it.

Is there a weak link in the moonroof system that I shoud look at first?
The 20 amp fuse tested good with an ohm meter.
Where can I buy parts on the cheap side?

The radio back-light was burnt out, an easy fix.
The cigarette lighters didnt work. A new fuse and screwing the rear cigarette lighter in place and all was good.

The ABS light and traction control lights are both on.
The previous owner stated that he just had a brake job and the light was on when he picked up the car. He complained immediately and they said for more $$ they would fix it. He just traded it in, and that is where I came in.
I think these 2 problems are related to each other. Too bad you need a special scanner for ABS, Who's bright idea was that?
I cannot see a cut wire or dislodged plug. Any Ideas? I just may pay for a scan job for this one.

Last question.
The intake went out on this car and the upper was replaced.
When these go they tend to run the anti-freeze thru the exhaust (after the motor). Does anti-freeze mess up the Cat-converter?

Thanks in advance

The motors and switches can be problematic on the mooroof, low priority here though, get it scanned on an abs capable scanner look for wheel speed sensor inputs not matching or codes related. usually a ft speed sensor here. The coolant in the exhaust, if it damaged the cat would probably set a cat effiecency code or a severe loss of power would be evident.

Thanks for the reply.

I agree on the priority. It is too cold in wisconsin to care about the sunroof now anyways. Getting the ABS taken care of is pretty high on the list, I just hope it is an easy fix, I'm really hoping it is a wheel bearing assembly.

Are the speed sensors in the wheel bearing assemblies?

I was thinking of going to the local parts store, purchasing one front and one rear hub, and just testing those without mounting them. This should allow me to return the one I dont need.

Just trying to avoid $40 for scanning and another $130 for parts.

Also do you think the traction control light is tied to this same problem?
I think GM uses the ABS brakes to slow down the spinning wheel, but I really dont know.

You need to scan this, too much guess work here yes the sensor is integral, you could check the resistance of each sensor but they still can be bad even if the resistance is good, autozone.com/repairinfo has some sensor checking info. Trac control is tied to the abs.
