stalls upon acceleration bassmaster81 12-17-2005, 02:43 PM
I have a 1990 corsica that wants to die when accelerating. The service engine light also comes on. Once the engine is warm, it gets better. It only happens when it gets below 35 degrees. The car is not worth taking to a mechanic but I would like to keep it running for a few more years. can anyone help? jsgold 12-17-2005, 10:04 PM Really need to get the code that is setting in the computer. Most parts stores will check this for free, but some do not test OBDI computers (which yours has). You can pick up a cheap tester for this yourself at Advance and read the number of flashes on your check engine light. You can do this by shorting out the right pins on your computer plug, but I have not done it that way. Once you have the code(s) at least you would have something to start with. May be MAP sensor, EGR valve, even an O2 sensor just to name a few possibilties. timmytoolman 01-30-2006, 08:42 AM Try unpluging the vacuum line from your EGR valve and take it for a quick test drive. Cause I just had a similar problem Fierc3 Kid 02-17-2006, 01:11 PM Where is the EGR valve? Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
