Rear wiper not making contact with curved window.

Anybody know how to install a new blade on the rear window arm of a 1997 4Runner (3RZFE) and get the blade to curve so as to maintain full contact on the curved rear window, instead of just a swath in the center of the path?
I encountered this problem when I bought an aftermarket blade and did not watch exactly how I dismounted the OEM blade. Subsequent to that I bought an OEM blade from a dealer, thinking it would surely work, but had the same problem!
I am guessing there is some tab to be set in a slot when the replacement blade is slid into the holder, then some kind of endcap that fits tightly, maintaining the pressure and forcing the blade into the correct arc for the curved window.
The window curves in two directions so having a straight blade doesn't work very well.
