My friend called me last night and said his buddy with an ’02 SS wanted to run em later. I had work the next morning but how could I pass it up? So we meet up at about midnight and headed over to the “track.”

We have been wanting to put this race together for a while now, but I just recently got my car running again (broken transmission AND bad ECU) so the tension had been building up. I have a 3” cat back and a gutted 2.25” cat while he has just a lid. We ran 3 times and it went a little something like this.

1st run:
I honk 3 times from a dig and we both go. I don’t know about him but I get too much wheel spin and by the end of 1st we are even. Slam 2nd and both our tires chirp and he pulls half a car on me by the end of 2nd. After we hit 3rd he just started to pull away and I couldn’t catch him. I shut down at the top of 3rd, roughly 90mph.

2nd run:
This time I bog the launch bad and I never stood a chance. By the end of 2nd gear he had 2 cars on me.

3rd run:
This time he let me get the hit and that helped out a little. I got a decent launch and it took him 3 gears to finally catch me and pass me up.

So I pretty much got worked by a stock Camaro, but it was about what I expected. I thought maybe I would do a little better.

After racing the SS I needed to raise my spirits so I decided to pick on my friends stock ’02 Mustang GT auto. From the get go I just kept pulling on him. We ran 3 times and I pretty much walked all over him.

Anyways, I’ve got an intercooler ready to be put on, I just need to get the pipes made for it. Then I’ve got a boost controller to hook up and we will have to race again. I need my revenge!

A side street off of Sunrise. This was Thursday so not as many cops out as usual.

I raced a SRT4 tonight with intake, full 3" exhaust and at 18psi tonight. :) When are WE gonna race?

Good loss. Sounds like your car runs in the 14's. LS1's don't shine until 3rd gear with the stock gearing. It's too long of gearing IMO, which is why i'm gonna drop in some 4.10's when I can afford it.
