Hi - Just got a check engine light on this morning, took it to the dealer, they checked it out and said I'm getting a misfire. Recommended plug/wires ($360!!!!!) and that should do it, but not sure. Needless to say I'm going to do it myself. Does this ring a bell to anybody? Any other recommendations? We just got this thing, it's in great shape with 135k all the svc's done, etc. I'm going to pick up the manual today, and look into a computer for it. Any recommendations on that as well would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Demian.

1st thing i'd check, is your O2 sensor that's usually the 1st thing to make a check eng light come on.

You can check the codes your self.
How old are your wires?
What are your plugs gapped to? Take them out and check the present gap they have a propensity to widen over time and cause longer starting times.
If they are gapped too wide it will cause spark jumping.
Replace plugs rotor, rotor cap and factory wires.
I used aftermarket and they DID NOT work I went with the Toyota wire and no problems.
Good luck.
