there are a few thing that will cause loss of gas mileage is to check your air filter and change your spark plugs, wire, cap, and rotor also clean your throttle plate inside the EFI and adjust the throttle so that the throttle plate will open fully and adjust the line that goes to your trans. to clean the trottle you must remove the hose that goes into your EFI and use fuel injector cleaner or carb cleaner to remove the sludge forming around the plate and wipe it with mech. towel and also use some fuel additive, hope this will help, I use redline fuel injector cleaner and lucas fuel cleaner, it short of done the job.. oh and the tank hold 17.8 gallons of fuel ( octane 91 or above 87 )

I just droped in a K&N air filter 4 months ago, and replaced my spark plugs, wires, and rotors in march and the intake was removed and cleaned.

if you done that then just go to any auto parts and look for some furl injecter cleaner that goes into your gas and see if that will do any effect, check if you have any fuel leak also the o2 senser that is before the cat. converter, and does the cat. converter making a sluggish noise?

As a matter of fact, i dont have a cat. I cut it out, welded a peice of pipe and left the muffler. I think that the O2 senors in front of the cat. is bad, but dose it realy effect the gas mileage that bad??? how much dose it cost? i heard its expensive.

a few people said that it will effect but you can try to replace it since you are getting bad mileage, it only cost $100+ and I think there is also a o1 sensor but I haven't check mine is at.

The O2 sensor reads the exhaust output and will then tell the ECM how to adjust the mixture of air and fuel to the cylinders and runnin w/out a cat. may seriously adjust your milage. Some think w/out it makes better gas milage but then there isn't the back pressure needed for some of the torque in the low end. Generally an O2 sensor for a 3.slow V6 (I have the same motor and have checked into replacing my O2) cost around 75 bucks give or take a few.

dose having a bad O2 sensor really effect the gas mileage that bad???
