Could someone please tell me if they have problems getting their car out of park. It seems like I have to pump my brakes sometimes to get the car out of park. Can someone tell me why? Please email me if you have an answer to this. Thank you for your time. Email is: gizmo5542@sbcglobal.net

Be sure you put your foot on the brake before you try to move the shift lever out of park. I had a LeSabre that I would start to move the shift as I pushed the brake and it would catch the rod that's supposed to slip away and allow the gearshift to move. That kept the gearshift locked.

You can also move the shift to neutral before you start the car if you're having problems with that solenoid not releasing well.
