Would you buy this car?Vtec95Civic 12-14-2005, 02:55 PM http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997-GSX-AWD-TURBO-MANY-UPGRADES-SAVE-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ4597052928QQcategoryZ6352QQssPage NameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Seems to be alright.. probably driven hard and would have to take off the spoiler and the other random ugly stuff but there's still a GSX under that wing EDMUND65 12-14-2005, 03:01 PM my question is who in the right mind woudl get rid of a GSX??? AbsoluteGTR 12-14-2005, 03:08 PM That looks like a nice GSX, the spoiler must go though...Also the paint job (from what I could make out from the pics) looks like it was done NOT by a professional. the exhaust muffler tip seems to be sticking out too much...Alot of little things will need to be changed, but otherwise a nice car! Blackcrow64 12-14-2005, 03:15 PM Sounds like a damn good deal. I'd buy it and fix it up to look better. ez1286 12-14-2005, 03:57 PM I'd definetly buy that car, notice besides all the stuff listed it has a 1g intake manifold and head? probably a whole 6-bolt swap. Vtec95Civic 12-14-2005, 04:12 PM Yeah but if it's got a 6-bolt that was incorrectly installed.. :cya: I agree about the paint, definitely looks DIY.. would probably paint it a nice dark blue anyways. I'm a little wary about the price seeing as how stock GSX's go for 8-12k.. What should I look for if I went to look at it? Obviously rust and body damage, what else? ez1286 12-14-2005, 04:29 PM just look at everything make sure it all looks in order. Ask to do a compression test, drive it, see how much better it pulls than your civic :grinyes: Vtec95Civic 12-14-2005, 04:36 PM Well it's unlikely that I'll get it, but there's a slim chance. And yeah it'd be a welcome upgrade, especially that BOV. SilvrEclipse 12-14-2005, 04:36 PM With those 17" crossdrilled rotors, I bet that car will stop pretty fast! lol Looks like a nice car, I would get it. Vtec95Civic 12-14-2005, 04:39 PM Stop? There will be no stop, only go. Thor06 12-14-2005, 08:38 PM Yeah looks ok, did you see where he said the tranny needs to be rebuilt? Looks to me like a fixer upper, the paint looked passable, but not great by any means and I didnt like the guage cluster. However I liked that spoiler. If you can get it for cheap, I would do it. AbsoluteGTR 12-14-2005, 10:28 PM I agree, it looks like the previous owner didnt take that great care of his/her car. It all depends on how far you live from this car, and if you are mechanically inclined...DSM are labor intensive, but are still hella-fun. You dont want the tranny giving out on you going home. civicblumagik021 12-14-2005, 11:24 PM hell yea i would buy it...its a GSX...duhhh...looks beat on though, i would check on that Vtec95Civic 12-15-2005, 12:03 AM Actually no I didn't see the tranny part.. probably won't bother then, don't have enough saved to buy it and do a tranny rebuild. defiancy 12-15-2005, 12:07 AM Anyone else notice the CEL light on in the speed/tach pic? lol Vtec95Civic 12-15-2005, 12:30 AM *sigh*.. I don't think I'll ever find a good GSX.. I might have to settle for just a GST.. AbsoluteGTR 12-15-2005, 01:12 AM If I were you I would get the almighty RS! ez1286 12-15-2005, 01:24 AM If I were you I would get the almighty RS! I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one. AbsoluteGTR 12-15-2005, 01:36 AM I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one. I know you are just jealous that you got stuck with a "GSX" that extra letter 'X' is just adding weight to your car...silly fool. Shpyder 12-15-2005, 02:07 AM It's had a 6-bolt swap done, with what looks like most of the basic A/F and other misc mods. I'd pay as much as $6500 for that car. Vtec95Civic 12-15-2005, 03:36 PM If I had the money I'd buy it, and rebuild the tranny with better gearing and an open diff... but I don't :crying: Beatass90Laser 12-15-2005, 08:02 PM I didnt really read it but I saw the 80k miles and thought crankwalk AbsoluteGTR 12-15-2005, 09:35 PM HEY GUYS I JUST TALKED TO THE SELLER and he said that if the high bidder does complete the auction, he will contact me (since I will be like 30 minutes away from the him) i told $5000 cash... What do yall think, $5000 for a GSX with a bad tranny??? Shpyder 12-15-2005, 09:37 PM HEY GUYS I JUST TALKED TO THE SELLER and he said that if the high bidder does complete the auction, he will contact me (since I will be like 30 minutes away from the him) i told $5000 cash... What do yall think, $5000 for a GSX with a bad tranny??? I would go for it. TRE can make you an excellent tranny for about grand, with some upgrades. I think its a great deal. Vtec95Civic 12-15-2005, 10:32 PM Well good to see someone can save it. Wish I had about 10 grand to dump into it.
