Hi everyone!

A very good friend of mine just picked up a used 2002, DE, SS, Monte Carlo from a private party here in Huntington Beach, CA. It is in pristine condition. (He paid $14K w/40K miles on it and it has aftermarket exhaust installed) It looks like a brand new car! The original owner builds hot rods and had several of them at his house when we first looked at this beauty. This car is "tits" and has obviously been well taken care of. Included was the window sticker, certificate of authenticity and every receipt, in date order, for all service completed. He also had saved, and gave Jim, the original "suitcase" exhaust. He had added aftermarket floor mats when it was purchased and gave Jim the original, "badged", DE floor mats. They were still held together with the original "plastic punch-through- thingy" that came from GM to the dealer. They, obviously, had never been installed! I'm telling you! This was the guy that we all dream of buying a used car from!

Anyway! The car has the stock, 16", wheels, that look great! What is the consensus on adding aftermarket wheels to this, limited edition, vehicle? Any other stuff that he/I should know about?

I just bought (it was delivered in late July) a new, limited edition, Magnum SRT8, and I would not switch out the stock 20" wheels for anything. (But this is 2006 and they are 20's and I just want to help Jim make his car look great!) And I did add a Zoomer Exhaust system, Mopar CAI, Jet Chip, and some other, non-performance, stuff. (see http://www.quartzsitervshow.com/kk's_mod!.htm if anyone's interested)

Jim's car, with only 3333 having been made, is even more rare than mine! (DAMNIT! LOL!) I looked at his new ride and thought that, maybe, some of you guys may be rat-holing the original 16" wheels and tires, and then adding some 18's, 19's or, maybe even, 20's with some low profile tires. And maybe doing some suspension stuff too.

Any feedback for a newbie on this forum, that is just trying to help out (see: drain his pocket book) a buddy, would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, in advance, for all of your help and input!

Personally, I like the '05-up 17" polished wheel in the same design as the '02 DE...
