rpm problemintegra123 12-12-2005, 03:16 PM i have been having a problem with my rpms. they jump from 1 to 3000 and it only stops when the car is completly warmed up. i noticed to that when it is jumping my heat doesnt work. and once the rpms stop jumping everything is fine and everything works. does anyone know whats wrong?? WReX 12-13-2005, 05:26 PM is this at idle? integra123 12-13-2005, 09:14 PM is this at idle? yes its at idle. WReX 12-13-2005, 09:21 PM it might be a mass air flow or O2 sensor problem integra123 12-14-2005, 03:03 PM i noticed that if i start the car a dont touch anything it doesnt happen. but if i touch the gas pedal it starts up immediatly. when i turn the car off and back on its fine. WReX 12-15-2005, 03:23 AM :screwy: hmm...could be an ecu thing..? i'd have somebody check over the sensors i mentioned earlier, i had a friend of a friend who thought it would be a good idea to run with out a mass air on his b16 and his car had the same characteristics as yours...and lets say we don't let him near our cars anymore :grinyes: tardster 12-21-2005, 03:53 PM I have a question, today I was driving down the road at a steady 30 mph when all of the sudden my rpm's dropped 1000 rpm's for just a second then it went back to normal. This happened 3 times, but once the car warmed up it seems to be fine now. Could it be from one of the sensors you mentioned? Thanks in advance... WReX 12-22-2005, 01:53 AM did you get any CELs? superbluecivicsi 12-22-2005, 06:36 AM i have been having a problem with my rpms. they jump from 1 to 3000 and it only stops when the car is completly warmed up. the should naturally rev high when the engine is cold, until the o2 sensor gets hot. if your idle is jumping during this process, then, maybe you should give your iacv a look. and it only stops when the car is completly warmed up. i noticed to that when it is jumping my heat doesnt work and once the rpms stop jumping everything is fine and everything works. does anyone know whats wrong?? while its jumping and cold, your not going to get heat. if you turn the heat on while the engine is cold, your just going to make it longer for it to warm up. it might be a mass air flow or O2 sensor problem hondas dont use mass air flow sensors ;) they use manifold absolute pressure sensors. if there is a problem in the o2 sensor, a cel will be thrown. i noticed that if i start the car a dont touch anything it doesnt happen. but if i touch the gas pedal it starts up immediatly. when i turn the car off and back on its fine. as stated above, check iacv, map, tps, and vac leaks. really though, if its fine when the engine is warm, your ok. just check up on those other components. hmm...could be an ecu thing..? i'd have somebody check over the sensors i mentioned earlier, i had a friend of a friend who thought it would be a good idea to run with out a mass air on his b16 and his car had the same characteristics as yours...and lets say we don't let him near our cars anymore as stated before, there are no mass air flow sensors on hondas. check the map sensor ;) though the map sensor is minimally used during idle. it is when the engine is under a load that it really starts doing its job. WReX 12-22-2005, 02:56 PM sorry about the incorrect terms but thank you for correcting them  didn't mean to mislead anyone vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
