Some people think it's ugly, but...

I'd have to agree that the Aztek may be so different that it may be considered ugly, but I don't think it's anywhere near as ugly as a honda Element or Scion xB (or whatever that boxy looking thing is that looks like a small Astrovan..lol)... I've given an Aztek a bit of a test drive, and really people need to look past the looks... and I don't even own one yet...
I'm considering getting a 'Tek, too many companies are filling up parking lots with boring jellybean like cars that all look the same... how do they ever find their own?

I agree the aztek is a timeless automotive design and way ahead of it's time! The tek is also ripe for serious mod's!!

My parents have a non-AWD Aztek and it has worked out well. It has had no problems over the past 3 years. It is a great GM vehicle!

I always liked Azteks, particuarly after they got rid of the side ribs. The front end always reminded me of a rhino, not a bad association for a tough SUV!
My only styling problem was with the sloping rear roofline. It looked like the vehicle couldn't decide if it was a hatchback or a minivan, both death images in the millenial American market. I've always wanted to graft a squared-off rear roof onto one, from the Buick cousin or maybe a Jeep Cherokee or Hummer.
The other things Aztek cried out for were larger diameter wheels and greater dealer lot availability of AWD or 4WD.
I think it was Bob Lutz who once said "If that thing had a Honda badge it would sell like hotcakes!"
Yes. it coulda been a contender. Take heart at the premium prices Edsels are bringing today, and keep your beauties!
