It appears the torque converter on my 1990 2.5 L Voyager (auto tranny) is locked. How can it be unlocked ?

p.s. When I try to put the tranny into drive from park, it cuts out, unless I give it a lot of gas...

There is a Connector toward the rear of the Trans, disconnect it, that is your Lock-up Solenoid connection,
