Looking for a direction or answer to a heated seat problem in my 2002 bonneville. Something doesnt work. When heat switch is activated it starts and shuts off in a few seconds. I noticed a black box mounted under the seat clicks when you activate the seat. Would I look at replacing this relay box or could the elements be burned out. Dont know where to start. Thanks

I'm guessing here as I don't have heated seats. The controller monitors the temp and will cycle power to the elements just like an electric blanket or heating pad. Can you heat the relay(s) cycle on/off frequently (faulty temp sensor)? Have you noticed a problem with the passenger's side (control module problem)?

I have cycled the switch many times but allways shuts off after 3-4 seconds. I'm mostly trying to find out if its a relay problem or element problem. No problems with the pass seat, but doesnt get the constant use the drivers seat gets in MN here. Thanks for your reply.

realjoe2000, did you ever find a solution to this problem. I am having the same problem with my 2001 SLE. I turn the heated seat on and it goes off in a few seconds, the passenger side works fine.
Thanks.
