I have a 1990 thunderbird that wont start.
I have power to lights/windows/radio ect. It doesnt crank nor fire and will not jump. I can also hear the fuel injection pump go when i try to start it.. It ran fine up until i tried to start it the other day.. someone said it might be the cylanoid... any suggestions?

Take a screwdriver or some similar INSULATED tool and jump the 2 big terminals on the starter relay. If it cranks over check for power to the small terminal with the key in the start position. If there's juice, replace the relay, if not look under the dash, there may be some sort of anti theft device in the form of a removable key card, make sure that if its there its plugged in firmly. If you're not equipped with one, then you'll have to delve a little deeper into the wiring to figure out why the start wire isnt hot.

ok i replaced the cylanoid. still nothing. when i jumped the cylanoid it starts.. im thinking it might be the starter connection.. any other possibilities? Check the Neutral Start Safety Switch on the automatic transmission version or the Clutch Safety Switch on a 5-speed version.
Either of these switches has to be "closed" before the starter solenoid can be energized.
