Went to the track again..! *video* included :)Vip09 12-10-2005, 04:14 AM Went back to our local 1/8th mile track again.. I haven't been since I street tuned my Power FC. Last time I ran with the monkeywrenchracing.com basemap and ran a best of 9.4 @ 69mph.. tune was way off. FYI.. our 1/8th here is actually 50ft short of an actual 1/8th, so that's why the 1/8th ET and trap are a little off.. here's my history at that track: Best time stock full interior: 9.245 @ 70mph Best time stock stripped: 8.967 @ 72mph http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/best60.jpg I finally beat my 8.9 after 8 months of trying.. I ran three 8.7x's in a row with consistent 2.1 60's. I also beat my best 60' on that run. I came SOOOO close to getting a 2.0 60'.. not too shabby with street tires on a fwd!! I was comparing my recent slips from tonight and when i went to the 1/4 mile last month. I think I'm really getting close to the 13's. Right now I think I should be doing 14.1-14.2 in the 1/4 by looking at my slips and comparing them to other celica time slips with similar mods. Here's a comparison I did.. my slips are the white ones. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/slipcomparison.jpg I think with a good dyno tune I can get 13.9 or maybe even better.. but I'll never know until I spend the $120 for an hour of tuning.. :( Vip09 12-10-2005, 04:43 AM This video was against my friend Frank that drives a Ford Probe GT (turbo). http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/irvington01.avi This one was my best run that I posted the slip for... yeah that's an expedition lol. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/irvington02.avi clawhammer 12-10-2005, 01:48 PM So your car is completely stripped, with i/e and standalone? That's really good. What about tires? Are you running street tires? Sleepr awd 12-10-2005, 01:51 PM niiiiiicceee that expedition never had a chance... was he really serious? or were they trying to fill a spot?? Vip09 12-10-2005, 02:26 PM So your car is completely stripped, with i/e and standalone? That's really good. What about tires? Are you running street tires? Yes, that was with street tires. I was using my old 16" nankang es100's in the front. niiiiiicceee that expedition never had a chance... was he really serious? or were they trying to fill a spot?? He kind of cut in front of me and got in line.. I was like wtf??? It was some middle aged guy and his wife. I think they made a wrong turn at the country kitchen buffet or something. lol Sleepr awd 12-10-2005, 02:52 PM middle aged guy w/ his wife going down the track?! thats a first... rice(er) 12-10-2005, 08:20 PM http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/irvington01.avi http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/irvington02.avi my windows media player cant play avi files :( RaidenKing 12-10-2005, 09:52 PM nice. I never liked those celicas much until I saw they only weighed around 2,500. With a stripped interior and your mods it sounds like you're going to be upsetting some supposedly faster cars in your area. first vid didn't work for me but good run. You need 1/4 mile times now. Vip09 12-10-2005, 11:39 PM You need 1/4 mile times now. Coming soon :) 2000LS1Z28 12-11-2005, 03:51 PM I don't get this comment,
our 1/8th here is actually 50ft short of an actual 1/8th, so that's why the 1/8th ET and trap are a little off.. here's my history at that track:
It either is 660', or it isn't a 1/8th mile track. Souds like it's 610', from what you're describing. Kinda odd that your track isn't a full 1/8th mile. I'll have to see you run a 13 sec. 1/4 mile to believe it, cause i'd imagine your 1/8th mile is more or less in the 9's right now. clawhammer 12-11-2005, 06:59 PM I think he is already in the 13s. Look at the time slip that he posted for the 14.0x run. The 1/8th time is 9.0x, but he was already in the 8.9x at the 1/8th. That's really good for a close to stock celica though. At a full 1/8th I should run around a 9.0 or so at 78-80mph. Underground_Killah 12-12-2005, 02:21 AM damn your about as fast as bubba's civic that he used to have here (the one that i was trying to set up a race between you two when he had it) congrats on the new time vip. ask for the tune for christmas jeffs_GTP_sleeper 12-12-2005, 02:58 AM Yeah I agree, if you can trap 78-80 in the 1/8 you should be able to get a 13s 1/4 slip. always8krpm 12-12-2005, 09:38 AM What kinda track cuts their 1/8 mile by 50ft? Sounds like a good place to race down the 1/5 mile... I'll show you a 13 second stock Honda! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
