I think if they wanna play that way, I'd tell them to speak to my lawyer about unauthorized repairs....

Unless you gave them written authorization to do any repair beside the oil change.
They had no right to do anything besides oil change to your car.
Some states even require a written estimate of repair work before they can do anything also.
Tell them to put it back together at no charge to you.
And makes sure they do not mess anything up doing it.
And ask for compensation for being without a car because of their bull crap.
If they do not do that.
I do not believe in being lawyer happy but you need to. Get a lawyer fast.

I have to agree with MT-2500 you need a lawyer and I would tell these folks that they had better put my car back together asap or you will be calling law enforcement to take care of the situation. This is extortion and grand theft. Don't take this lying down.

I agree with the above posts. Most states have consumer protection laws that prevent just this thing from happening. You should get your car back now, call the police if you have to. Also report these guys to the local Better Business Bureau. This is likely not the first time they have done this.

You are welcome.
It is sad that a place of business would do something like that.
They have no legal right to do anything to your car unless you authroized it.
They have no legal right to hold your car unless you authroized the work to be done.
Also contact your local police department and the PA attorneys office they may also be able to help.
The repair place is on the border line of grand theft and auto theft.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

When you take them to court ask for lost wages. They were responsible for you missing work by holding your car hostage and forcing you to miss work so you deserve compensation for that time off and since the suspension was a result of their actions you are entitled to payment for that too. Good Luck!
