I have a 95 b'ville supercharged with 165,000 on it and it misses at low RPMs on the highway. The check engine light comes on, I scanned it and it came back with a "cam position sensor circuit error". I replaced the CPS and it still does the same thing. any ideas??? mike

The magnet for the sensor on the cam gear have fallen off, look thru the sensor hole while turning the engine over by hand to see if the piece has fallen of the cam gear.

It is possible that you have a problem with the crank position sensor. Since they work together if you replaced the cam position sensor and still have the light check or replace the crank position sensor as that may resolve your problem.

If the cam sensor magnet fell out, it's simple to replace. Gm part # is 10456195 (Delco # 213-3136). It should run about $45-$50.

Don't have to worry about it anymore, I hit some ice last night and wrapped it around a tree. Me and my girlfriend both got life-flighted to the hospital, I have a separated shoulder and a dislocated hip, she got her face smacked up pretty bad. The car is a total loss. thanks anyway, mike

Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope you are both going to be alright.

Although that is a very strange and expensive way to solve your car problems! (lol)

Thanks, other than being very sore, we'll be OK other than seeing my B'ville hurt. It's insured, I'm looking for another one. mike
