92 tracker cuts out!

Everything started when I pulled up to an intersection and my vehicle stalled. It wouldn't restart, it cranked fine, but it wouldn't fire up. Now it usually won't start, but once in a while now it will fire up. After a couple of minutes it stalls, then you can't get it going again.

It has spark and there is pressure in the fuel line. It is a brand new battery and the alternator has been tested and it is fine. It runs smooth once it goes, but it just stalls out of nowhere. I've replaced the spark plugs and plug wires. I took the distributor cap off and it was fine, no moisture and no damage.

Does anybody have any ideas? I'm completely stumped!

'92 Trackers suffer from the anemic Mitsubishi ECM which burns itself out at about 45,000 miles. Search this page for ECM problems, some of the guys have gotten pretty good deals on having the ECM rebuilt, like about $60. Your problem sounds just like my '92 when the ECM died.
