ok first off what year is yer runner? 89-95 had sixes in them, going from a 4 to a 6cyl, ya may have to change mtr mounts, but from 89-95 the block has the bosses and all, but ya may have to drill out the bosses for the 4-6 fit, you will need all the wiring, including the ecm. I work at a salvage yard and have access to all the info ya need, hmm, i'll copy it this afternoon and repost with the differences.

89 through 95 have V6s in some but the 3.0 3vze engine is good but.... It's known for a reaccuring headgasket problem on cyl#1 & #6 the intake side is weak for some reason. If your gonna do a swap try for like a 4.3ltr chevy. It's basically a 350 minus the two rear cyl. I was thinking since you'd need a new wiring harness and all might as well as go w/ a good motor. Toyota motors are good also. And thats my $.02

It is a 1986. I was thinking of a 350, since we have one laying around, but then got to thinking, i would hafta to way much more work with a v8 cuz i would have to use a different tranny, maybe axles, tottaly different wireing kit, etc. So i was thinking of buying a 89 v6 motor and get some mounts off one maybe a salvage yard if they were in good enough condition.

Another option is a 3.4L 5VZ-FE. It's a little large, but it's been done before.

Don't waste time or $ on a 3.0 swap. Only a little more HP than the 4 cyl, bad gas mileage, head gasket problems. It's not called the 3.slow for nothing. Do a Toy 3.4 or a Buick 3.8 or Chevy 4.3.

Before you use a Buick or Chevy engine, go to the related forums here and get a feeling for the problems those engines have.
