general 4runner maintenance issues

I moved to Reno, Nevada last year from Alaska and so my 94 4runner has been through alot, condition-wise. It has a very throaty rough sounding idle (but not really varying) for a V6, and I was hoping that someone could tell me if this was because of loose exhaust system components, or bad timing...or what.
Another thing is, I have a power steering related squeel, which I'm guessing is the pump, but I'm wondering if I should replace the belt or tighten it first...it looks like its still in semi-ok condition (a few cracks between the rubber teeth)...should I just spray some of that belt stuff on it and see if it still squeels?
The last issue is that when i make severe turns, there is a creak/squeak, is this also my power steering about to explode, or is it an unrelated suspension/chassis issue. I don't think the car has been totally lubed in a while.
(edit: note that when i am turning onto a steep incline, this creak happens more frequently, leading me in the direction of suspension/chassis, even while considering the power steering is all but dead)

Thanks for any help...I guess I'm most concerned about the idle and if it being almost ridiculously loud might indicate that I could eventually cause engine damage by ignoring it.

Before you go condemming the PS pump 1) check the fluid level; 2) check/tighten the belt; c) replace the belt

I would replace your belt. Also, in about 15,000 miles, have them retightened as the do tend to relax just a bit and you'll be back in the same boat.

The suspension squeak when you turn your wheels all the way is from a "stop post" rubbing on a plastic piece on the underside of your front wheels. Get under your car (with brake on, in gear and with wheel chocks on the rear tires) and look at the area right underneath your front tires. You'll see how when you turn the wheels all the way, these stops will rub up against metal. There is supposed to be a plastic nut lookin' thing there to help avoid the squeal. Toyota sells these replacements and they're easy to put in.

If the plastic stop nut is gone you can just lube up the area with some white lithium or marine grade grease. Do this 2-3 times a year. Problem solved.
