Pathfinder Key!!!!

Recently on my Pathfinder (2000 SE) the key some times just stops working, it will open all doors but unable to turn the switch, yes the steering Wheel is unlocked but for some reason it just start working again...any ideas????

If it's a factory key and it's not overly worn, I would suspect an ingnition barrel going bad. Could be pins sticking in it. Try spraying it with a silicon or graphite lube.

If it's an aftermarket cut key, it could be a bad cut.

Look ... this is really stupid for a response, but it could just be the problem. You didn't rule it out in your post. My key won't budge sometimes until I turn the wheel a little. The wheel lock seems to jam up the ignition switch if it is set just right. So fiddle with the wheel until the key turns.:loser:
