Poor accelerationmicarro 12-06-2005, 09:47 AM I have a problem wih my car oldsmobile 93 when I start moving it in the morning the acceleration is extremely and anormaly poor I barely can move the car and is consuming more gas than before After 10 minutes driving my car runs better, I noticed that engine must be warm to fix the problem Battery is new, I did recently a tune up and the problem remains I will appreciate your help Thank you curtis73 12-06-2005, 10:47 AM Does the problem disappear when the engine is warm? Or just get a little better? Sounds like one of the many sensors is dying. I would start by checking the coolant temperature sensor and the intake air sensor since that makes the most logical sense to me, but it could be one of several sensors. I can't think of anything mechanical that would be causing it. It could be a fuel issue but usually that would create a rather noticable bucking or oscillation in power, not just a steady low power. Any check engine lights? micarro 12-06-2005, 03:17 PM Thank you Well, yes problem disappear when the engine is warm no engine lights on If it is fuel issue what kind of issue could be ? Thank you Moppie 12-06-2005, 04:34 PM Something is obviously wrong with the cold idle/run circuts. When cold it sounds like its getting to much fuel, or ignition curve is not being advanced enough. But I know nothing about 93 Oldsmobiles, so I can't tell you why. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
