My 89' Pontiac Bonneville won't start. This is what happened. I was driving down the road, and about to turn into a store when the car died. After it died it wouldn't start again. The next day I went to pick it up...I cranked it and it started and ran for about a minute but then died again. Since then it won't run or crank at all. I have put a new starter and battery on it but it still doesn't start. Someone Please Help Me!!

:smokin: If your 89 Bonnie won´t start should be a lot of sttufs, but my guess you have a ruined fuel pump that goes inside the fuel tank.
Can you hear the pump working when you turn the key on?

What is a fuel pump supposed to sound like? I would assume it is working because when you try to start the car.....there is a nob on the top of the engine.....if you try to take the nob off gas squirts you in the face

by not cranking, do you mean it does nothing, engine doesn't turn over, no click, etc..., or do you mean it rolls over but won't "catch" and start?

I mean it clicks, but doesn't roll over and start. Doesn't sound like it does when a battery is low. I just hear a click. Almost like there is no power to it, but that is impossible because I just put a new battery and starter on it.

Where is that located on the car and I will have someone check that out.

I assumed the knob was the schrader valve. I'm trying to see what exactly is happening when the key is turned, that's why I asked. I would assume that you have another bad starter. The solenoid is attached to the starter, and when they fail, the car will click, but the starter won't engage to turn the car over. If it were an ignition switch or neutral safety switch, you'd get no click, as no power would make it to the solenoid "s" terminal. Until you get the car to roll over, it's hard to determine what caused it to die. I would check fuel pressure at the rail, as fuel pumps can run but not supply enough pressure to get the engine started and keep running. It will be enough to spray fuel as you push on the valve, but not enough to feed the injectors.
