Ignition problem

Ok so it first started about a year ago. Ignitor module went out, got a new one from dealer $450 ouch, one year warranty. Two weeks later it goes out again, arghhh. Replaced it, six months later it goes again. Replaced again, w/ warranty. Then goes again in like another week and a half. By this time I already carried one from a junks yard in the glove box. Then toyota refunds my money sayin there must be something else wronfg with it. Ok so then she's dead in the water so to speak. On the last time it went out I noticed that the Tach was kinda jumpy and it fely like it was missin pretty bad. Check engine light was comin on with all these events. So I read the codes and its a ignition code DUH. So now I have gotten another ignitor from the boneyard and replaced the distibutor. Thought that might help it did then I went for a drive round the block after checkin the timing and replace cap and rotor. And the damn Tach starts to jump and the truck kinda hesitates every once in a while, just like what it did before it would die completely. I'm goin nutz with this problem. When I read the codes it says it could be the ignitor, distributor, rpm sensor, cam position sensor, coil, ignition switch, or wires associated with these. I'm at a stand still any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Will

In general, the 14 code is the ignitor, the wiring to and from the ECM to ignitor, or the ECM. Can you get an ECM to substitute for yours from a salvage yard?

On this old of vehicle check for intermittent wire continuity problem with the igniter circuits.
I had a broken wire but it died completely until it was spliced. I now have an intermittent tach but only when the passenger side of the engine compartment gets wet.
Good Luck
