Fluid Flush... What kind, how much? Trans / TCase / F & R DiffStoeger 12-02-2005, 11:24 AM I want to flush/fill all my fluids. Anyone have the specs handy for what type and approximately how much I need for: TRANSMISSION TRANSFER CASE FRONT DIFF REAR DIFF (I have a 95 Laredo 6 Cyl 4.0 with Quadratrac Full-Time 4WD.) JeepForever 12-02-2005, 12:57 PM The specs are in the owner's manual (in the fluid section). When I did this I went to Autozone and asked the same question you did. They looked on the computer, wrote down all the fluid specs and quanties, and walked me to the shelf where the products were stored. Always round up to the next quart (or buy an additional quart of each) so you don't run out. I have a '94 Jeep GC 6 cyl., so I don't want to quote the wrong amount, but it was roughly 4 quarts of trans fluid (for the transmission & transfer case) and I think three quarts of gear fluid for the front & rear combined. I didn't do a full "flush" (which would be about 10 quarts of trans fluid) - just drained the fluid that comes out of the drain plug, which was about 4 quarts. I also purchased new gaskets for the two diff covers, and for the transmission, plus a trans filter. NOTE: If you don't have a drain plug on your transmission pan (the '94 does not), and if you have an air compressor, I highly recommend spending $20 for an air powered socket wrench. There are a few dozen bolts among all these pans, and it will speed your work. Also, have some newspapers or rags handy for when the fluids splatter. It's pretty easy - just more bolts and more fluid.
