Can't get fuel filter off of 1995 S10 Blazerbobby0965 12-01-2005, 04:28 PM I was able to loosen the the two nuts that go into the filter that problem is that I can't slide the old filter out of the plastic ring/clamp that is holding it in place up in the side of the car. Does that plastic clamp come off or does the filter just slide out? Gabe25 12-01-2005, 05:10 PM There should be a 12mm bolt on the top of the bracket going into the frame that holds the filter ring in place. laxman21 12-01-2005, 07:53 PM There should be a 12mm bolt on the top of the bracket going into the frame that holds the filter ring in place. It's located in such a convenient place. Watch your knuckles. bobby0965 12-02-2005, 01:03 AM It's located in such a convenient place. Watch your knuckles. The location of that darn fuel filter made an easy job a lot harder than it had to be. dmbrisket 51 12-02-2005, 01:13 AM ^our vehicals ain't bad, try a cuttlass sometime, its a 40 doller, up to, 2 hour job, be thankful yourse came out of the holder, sometimes the channel locks have to come out 93LT 12-02-2005, 09:38 AM It is really not that big of a deal, just un screw the feul lines and remove the fuel filter with the bracket, slip new fuel filter into bracket and reinstall. JoulesWinfield 12-02-2005, 02:09 PM Ive never taken one of those brackets off. I just push the filter one way or the other. 93LT 12-02-2005, 06:23 PM Ive never taken one of those brackets off. I just push the filter one way or the other. You've been lucky or your bracket was never tightened. MT-2500 12-03-2005, 03:57 PM For the tough ones try a big pair of channel locks. Hook the bracket with one side and the end of the filter with and push. A littke slick stuff on filter helps. Piece of cake after you catch on to it. Good luck MT rlith 12-04-2005, 07:28 AM Unless he wants to replace the lines or reflair them, DO NOT USE CHANNEL LOCKS. Spray with penetrant and use line wrenches! MT-2500 12-04-2005, 10:19 AM Rlith Maybe I did not make it clear. The channel locks works good for pushing or getting the filter out of the plastic holding bracket. Yes by all means use line wrenches on the fuel line fittings. MT Chaindrive 12-04-2005, 10:51 AM Rlith Maybe I did not make it clear. MT The first time I did ours, I did the knuckle-buster way removing the clamp bolt. Never again. First removing the lines, then using a pair of channel locks to squeeze/slide/push the old one out and new one in is the only way to go; just exactly like he says. Piece of cake. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
