F-150 Runs Rough PLEASE HELP!Bullitt94 11-30-2005, 11:38 AM I have a 1990 F-150. Recently I changed out a head on it and replaced all gaskets because of a compression issue that I had. Now, when I drive the vehicle it sputters and misses when I accelerate to highway speeds. It seems to do just fine in the city until I get on the highway, though. It has a tough time holding highway speeds and seems to lack power. Then, when I get off of the highway it sputters and misses as I accelerate in the city. In neutral it seems to rev up fine, but in gear again it sputters and misses. After a while of driving in the city after getting off of the highway it seems to clear up for the most part. I am very confused. I was beginning to do this somewhat before I changed the head out, but now it is worse. Could this be the exhaust clogging? I could use some help, please. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! peppermrj 11-30-2005, 09:10 PM I have a 1990 F-150. Recently I changed out a head on it and replaced all gaskets because of a compression issue that I had. Bullitt94 12-01-2005, 03:30 PM I was looking into this far too deep. I found that I had cracked boots on my spark plug wires and I was getting spark jump to the exhaust manifold. Simple solution. No the truck runs great! Thanks for the reply, anyway. peppermrj 12-01-2005, 04:38 PM Cool. Thanxs for the update. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
