I have an '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD and the heat controls do not work on the passenger side. I can adjust the passenger temperature setting but it has no affect on air temperature for the passenger side. Any idea what has failed and can a DIY fix this easily?

Its the blend door motor and cost $1,000 to fix its all labor they have to take out the entire dash and fire wall. Its a joke and chrysler is a joke because this item should last forever.

I went to the dealer today and he told me the same thing; $1K to fix and remove the whole dash to do it. He said when it gets cold out that's when they break. Well, I told him it sounds to me like that 's when it's supposed to work - not break. Clearly, a very poor design. I'll live with heat for the driver only. My wife can buy a very nice winter coat for $1k!

LOL, I hear ya at least the heated seat works on that side. Theres no reason that part should break and there is no way they can tell you it will not break again either. Its all labor and if they would of cut it down 300.00 I probably would have done it but a grand is crazy. I dont feel so bad cuz I am in a wheelchair so it is actually my side of the car. lol I was thinking of taping up the floor vent. I dont know my wifes heated seat dont work either $700.00 for new seat. The part that sucks is i baby my cars ,love to wash them wax them , just had all belts changed all fluids flushed its got 50,000 miles on it. Just doesnt seem fair that chrysler makes a crapy jeep after all these years i have never had these problems. And will never have again either.... good luck
