i have a 94 ram van and i checked the coil and its good i swapped the distributor and it still did not work. i checked the wire from the coil to the distributor and it works. i changed my ignition and it still doesnt work

i was told i need to bypass the starter relay or module and just put 12volts on the coil and try to start it

im going to try that today but i still do not know why there is no power to the coil in the wires

when you turn the key on the dodge ram vans to the start position you should get a reading on the wires to the coil for power

if you dont theres a problem with the power and thats my problem but all my parts are good

good luck with changing your distributor i dont know if it will work

try hooking up 12volts to the coil to bypass the problem if you dont have the power when your van is in the start position

Of course an 1897 van would have problems. That was supposed to be 1987. Simplest of things, it was spark plugs.
