I have a 1988 D21 pick up. I was wondering how I retrieve codes from my ECU. I have only one switch; on (diagnostic mode)/ off (normal). there is no nob to turn to enter the different modes. When I urn the switch to the on position I can see the different modes flash at me (both lights blink one, then twice...up to five). But how do I enter the mode that I want? :banghead:

Back on the older Nissans , the way you retrived codes were turning the screw on the ECM . As you were saying , blink once then twice.. There are 4 Modes .. when it gets to 5 it clears codes... when it starts you have to pay attention and count the blinks if there are any in between numbers systems... most codes are in the 3rd system.. so it woudl blink 3 times .. then you may see it blink 2 , then 5 .. then move on to system #4 .. well you just got a code 25 then you would look that up .. Just used 25 as an example. Anyway Good luck
