Hey guys, im new the this board.

I am planning on getting a Saab 9-3 Aero '06 (dual exhaust mmmmmm)

I'll be graduating college in 2007 and hopefully some used 06 Aero's will be out.

I was just wondering, they say a Saab isn't for everyone. What makes people say this? The turbo lag? Looks?(I think they look dead sexy)? Price- I can understand this one.

I wanted a Luxury-Sports car... Out of these runner ups: Honda S2000, Nissan 350z, Infinity G35, Volvo S 60-R, Acura TL

S2000- I could imagine a hoodlum just taking a knife to my hood.

350z- typical/played out

G35- typical, lots of my friend has one and im not that impressed.

Volvo S60-R- Expensive, Rating's arent good as the 9-3, 9-3 Interior looks better, and 9-3 has better gas milage

Acura TL- Not much to say here. A fine fine car, but 9-3 looks won me over.

Anyone have any counter arguments?

Only counter arguments I can possibly think about are:

Horrible resale value- Can be negated because I will purchase after I test drive and see if the Saab "is for me"

Not many modifications- Intake, Exhaust and Headers/ ECU Chips, body kits, etc. etc.

Anyone know where I can purchase such parts listed above for my Saab? Which parts will help me get the most bang for my buck?

The 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero does 0-60 in 6 seconds, but it seems a tad slow. I'm hoping to pull it down to the mid 5 second range. The quarter mile isnt bad, because the turbo kicks in but I think I will need more off-the-line power.

I was also wondering if anyone here had any good racing stories in their Saabs and if so, if they could start a topic. Thanks.
