Im seriously considering breaking the bank and putting a turbo or supercharger on my car. 2004 GA 2.2 Ecotec. What is your opinion on which to go with? They cost roughly the same so it depends on which one i decide to actually use.

the super charger doesnt need to spool up like the turbo, so theoreticly the SC would be better(and easier).
turbos need exhaust to get boost, so it has to build, I guess you;d say, there for you hav turbolag.. thats my opinion, i'm sure the "turbo guys" will retort !

well since he has the ecotec there is only one on the market, and its not worth buying. Thats why i say turbo it. Theres a handful of turbo kits for the ecotec out there.

True that there is more turbo kits than SC's, but I didnt really think about it being an ecotec. I guess theres more room for the plumbing the air ducts and innercoolr, exhuast, alot of work.

But I still say the SC is the better of the two, even though the SC for the ecotec isnt as good as the SC's for the V6's. Unless you put twin turbos on , or a big T5, like on Volvo S40 2.5L. But thats probley twice as much as the T1-2 for the Ecotec. either way it wont be cheap and its not going to be easy to install Gooman18 , good luck

turboz are gr8 for mid to high rpmz, and scz are best at low to mid rpmz. a turbo will beat a sc in the long run, but they have alot more partz and so they kan have alot more problemz

Lots more parts on a turbo unit thats for sure. Not that this turbo is accually the exact one for the eccotec, i'm not sure, but theres lots-o-parts either way.
