Help I have a 92 bonni supercharged. I brought the car from a auction. I love the car but the check engine light is on the trouble code that is set is 26 whitch is the "quad driver" code. My car will start but is very hard to start. I usually turn the key to the position just before you engage the starter three or four times then engage the starter then the car starts right up. Now any cd player i put in the car if i turn it up over a certain level it will cut off. Not to mention if i add bass in it. The positive battery cable is burned a little. The battery, stater alternator,Ecm, ignition coil, and cam shaft sensor is new. My oil, boost, and temp gauges are all wacky. And i have replaced the dash only for the same result. Also i have very poor gas mileage. I put it in the shop. The shop discovered a power wire for the tcc solenoid was disconnected and hooked up to the egr power wire. They determined this to be the cause of the 26 code. I'm not happy with there answer. What do you people think is the matter any hints will help alot. Why would someone seperate the power wire from the tcc and hook it into the egr. also i was told the 26 is if a wire is touching another wire causeing it to set the code off. Pleas help any ideas or suggestions.

They are probably right, this hook up would over load one of the quad drivers, they were pretty good to find this problem ,stick with them. This may have been done to avoid replacing or repairing the root cause.

So will an overloaded quad driver cause my car to act up. What are some of the problems a bad quad driver can cause?

In general, what ever the affected quad driver operates, 4 high load pcm functions, will not work. This requires some diagnosis in that circuit.

Iv'e read where sometimes things are done on purpose at auctions to keep bidding low.
