Any help thankscaprice in work 11-21-2005, 06:48 PM I just bought a 92 station wagon 5.7 V8 and for a V8 it just doesn't have any horse power i think i'm gonna do a couple of things to it tell what you think would it be better to get a new motor or just try to rebuild the old one it has 165,000 on it what are some good starting point as far as the tranny and gears a guy at work says that year model has only about 170 hp i dont beleive that i would like to make it a 300hp car just ned help on the starting point and what road to take. PeteA216 11-21-2005, 09:33 PM Well a rebuild would be a big step.... high compression heads, over sized cam, roller rockers, high flow edelbrock intake, headers, true dual exhaust, and you should be pushin some power. etc. 11-29-2005, 03:42 PM The 350 in those cars are very reliable and cheap to fix. If there is nothing wrong with the motor, I would just leave it alone and do a tune up. If its already running in A1 shape, you can do some simple bolt ons and build a foundation for future big mods. Bolt ons include a cold air intake, exhaust/mufflers, chip, 1.6 rr and springs and so on. -etc. randy78 12-03-2005, 05:27 PM what rear axle ratio it have ? check RPO sticker for all the G codes off it post here, im curious about it thanks good luck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
