problems starting the car

just recently i have problems starting my car. the battery isnt dead cause i can turn on the radio and windows when i turn the key it doesnt start. It takes a while to start it. whats the prob?

im assuming you meant to say that your car will not crank? you need to have your battery checked, preferrably load tested. the starter draws much more current than the radio and windows.so the fact that they work doesnt prove whether or not the battery is good or bad.

It might help if we knew what year car & engine size you have. :slap:

This could be any number of problems from a bad ignition module to a distributor to a fuel problem.

Does it crank but not start or do you turn the key and nothing happens?

If it cranks and takes a while to start it may be a battery problem. You may not have enough cranking amps to start. Try going to a larger cranking amperage like a 650.

I have a 650 in a 1985 T-Bird with a v6 and that baby starts up great even on cold mornings.
