True dual exhaustgetfreshco 11-17-2005, 07:00 PM for true dual exhuast do you need another convertor or can it be just custom made second pipe from the orginal converter......or am i just totally missing the point of true duals and.........will i get the same increase in hp if i just add the second pipe behind the convertor without the second convertor? kahjdh 11-17-2005, 08:43 PM True duals in my book never combine. silicon212 11-17-2005, 08:47 PM A true dual uses two cats - one for each manifold. As far as "never touching" is concerned, a true dual system can have both sides connected through a "balance pipe" that connects both sides behind the cats. This helps to smooth pulses through the exhaust system, decreasing back pressure and helping the engine to breathe. getfreshco 11-17-2005, 10:05 PM do you mean like a "H" pipe? i heard someone talking about it and i just assumed thats what your refering to...... correct me if im wrong silicon212 11-17-2005, 10:26 PM Yes, an "H" pipe. kahjdh 11-17-2005, 10:35 PM X pipe would be better. 1986Z28 11-18-2005, 02:51 PM yes im running true duals on my lt1, two cats and a x pipe, btw its a 2 3/4" system and it sounds dumb without the x pipe getfreshco 11-18-2005, 07:27 PM thanx for clearing that up....is $600 a reasonable price for a dual exhaust.......originally one pipe 1986Z28 11-18-2005, 08:52 PM does that include cats? i payed 900 for mine with borla muffler and high flow cats getfreshco 11-18-2005, 08:58 PM i think so...... its with magana flows including 3" tips randy78 12-03-2005, 04:55 PM do you get inspected for cats and such where you are ? if not then i would get long tube hedman hedders form summit for these car for 140 and the Hedman X-tensions 2.5": HED-18806 : $21.95 they are S shaped and bolt to the collectors and will get it to where you can connect straight pipes pipe and mufflers are cheap at local store good luck p0k3y 12-08-2005, 12:09 AM well i have what i consider true duals on my 92 caprice and i have 2 picpes 1 from each manifold into two flowmaster mufflers i think there 40 series with two two turn down tips with no cats i would consider hat true duals .. as for the h or x pipe does that make it do any better ????? please let me know vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
