I had a great idea the other day that has probably already been done but i still want to do it to my 98 Eclipse GS Put a 5.7 Liter LS1 Corvette engine in it does anyone know where i can get this done in or around KY if not where at all and about how much it will cost to do this proceedure i really want it but i also do not want to get reemed if anyone knows please hit me back

Wow ..... thats a new one. 450hp+ FWD ...good luck fitting that V8 engine in there. You can swap a turbo engine in there and I think a PT Cruiser but thats about it.

The basic rule of engine swaps is: if youv'e got the money and the skill, you can put a viper engine in a geo metro, if you want. But there are no documented writeups at anyone ever having attempted such a swap. If your goal is to make good hp, and don't want to sell your car, getting a turbo kit for your 420a will still be cheaper and more "doable" than the ls1 swap.

The engine alone would be worth more than double your car. Then take into account the labor and custom parts/planning that would go into a project of this magnitude, it would be a very expensive journey, and I doubt you have the time/money to do it. I second shpyder's opinion with the custom turbo for your 420A being the best decision if you are looking for some quick power.

First off, you wouldn't be able to sit that engine in there for FWD the only FWD transmission i could see working is the 4L80 and those are junk to begin with. AND I DOUBT it would fit in there at all unless you did some serious fabrication in the engine bay/front clip. Then you have to go through the process of converting the car to RWD, finding an axle and modifying the width, getting a custom driveshaft, you would be dropping some serious cash into the car that really wouldn't be worth it.

But if you did do i would be amazed and impressed. :bigthumb:

i have seen a v8 in an eclipse ONCE in my life. it was a chevy 350 turned 180 so that it would sit right. then the used a powerglide tranny and converted it to rear-wheel-drive. that's the only time i've seen anything other than a 4-banger put in a 1g or 2g. it's nearly impossible unless your a rich bitch with lots of time and a high stress tolerance.

Thanks for the info guys i was just wandering and i do have high hopes and it will one day be done i just wanted to know if it is done and who can do it but most of the info was useful and i will take into account that it will take a shit load of money and if anyone knows about where i can get it done i would like that very much
