Can I safely run 21 psi on my 14b if I get 550 injectors, safc and egt, or will I also need a fmic??



-93 tsi AWD
-2.5" turbo back exhaust
-rewired 190 fuel pump
-k/n filter
-mbc @15 psi

you can..ive seen it done..but it would help performance to go w/ the fmic..

You dont need an EGT gauge. they are not as spectacular as everyone make them out to be. You really should look into a Fmic with the heat you will be pushing out of you compresser at 20+ psi. You can get away without upgrading your injectors untell you go with a larger turbo. 14b maxes out around 30lb/min. about the same as 450cc injectors.

at 21psi i would suggest it. your perfectly fine without one though.

yup, sure did. guy needs to change his webpage.

He does not say he has the fastest in the world!!! it says he has one of the fastest talon tsi on 14b. Also if you scroll down the right side he says he is the 10th fastest 14b powered car.

The Dyno & Times page for "My Talon" has a new timeslip from South Georgia Motosports Park! Yup finally made it to the 1/4 mile track! Needless to say the 1 of the runs was good despite the long drive. I ran a 12.17 @ 111.94mph. Good enough for 4th fastest AWD 14b pass in the world! I also best my previous 1/8th mile ET once again! I ran an ET best of 7.77 @ 89.15, with a 60 foot of 1.682! The weight reduction continues. So she is finally laying down the numbers I knew she could!

will I be getting alot of knock as a result of running 21+psi on the stock side mount, if so, then would a supra side mount be a much of an improvment??

Yeah, I would expect quite a bit of knock, IIRC running past 16 psi on stock shit is just asking for knock. I seriously doubt a supra sidemount would help much, I think FMIC is the only way to go.

A Supra SMIC was good for an extra 3 mph on pump gas with the 14b. I belive I was trapping 105ish on pump with it. No help on race gas though, I was still stuck around 110 mph. FMIC is far superior at any rate, and will always be there for you when you go with a bigger turbo...

Also the goodwill car that ran 10.8 on the 14B was FWD. The owner came up to area on business and stopped by my local track. I'm glad I went that night, I enjoyed our conversation much more than talking to 50 poeple that just want to ask if I run nitrous. :D
