I'm going to replace the gasket between the oil lines and the oil adapter and from what i can see there is just 1 13mm bolt holding them together right? Is it a gasket or is it 2 o-rings?

The lines have two o-rings, which could be two different styles, most likely just the two regular o-rings. Since your there, go ahead and replace the gasket and larger seal on the adapter to block. They commonly leak and are a headache, its just two bolts(I think 13 but may be 15 mm).

yea mine leak a few drops everytime i park for more than 30min. can u get these orings at like advanced auto or are they a dealer item?

ok, yet another thing for the to-do list

Ok, i removed the skid plate and it seems imposible to get the socket on the bolt that holds the lines to the adapter. i started in front of the differential and used a swivel, but no luck. Should i just remove the 2 bolts that hold the adapter to the block first, then try to remove the lines?

How to you guys do it?

If you have a brace that connects from the block to the transmission cover, then you have to take that off first(the brace). Its a pain to get off, but once you have that off, you have the right angle to get to that bolt that connects the oil lines to the adapter.

I purchased my gasket kit at Oriellys. I also, took the bash plate off and then used a multitude of extensions to reach the bolt. Really not that bad once you figure it out.

Alright, i finally got the 2 lines disconnected. I looked at the 2 o-rings and there not ripped or anything like that. I wonder what cuases them to leak?

The adapter is not leaking from the block so i'm just going to leave that alone.

I'll see if carquest sells these o-rings, it seems like they have everthing, and if not i'll go to the dealership. I don't think we have an oriellys around.

Oh yeah, My o-rings looked like they were leaking but it ended up being my oil lines. The oil would run all the way down the oil lines until it hit the adapter and them drip down. A common problem for those lines. I bought the new lines for 60.

I have replaced the front oil lines already, at about 65,000. Not big problem replacing them. However, the rear oil lines are leaking now, 115,000. I have had not problems get them loose from the oil filter and the engine adapter, but cannot get them out from between the engine block and the front differential. Does anyone have any other thoughts for removing the lines other than removing the three differential bolts and dropping it?:banghead:

Jack up the engine on '96 and newer to provide more clearance for removing the lines.
