Coolant reservoirDigitaleuphoria 11-15-2005, 10:21 AM Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm a complete noob when it comes to cars. Also, I searched and didn't find this question so I apologize if its been answered already. I was lookin in my engine compartment today, tryin to figure out what the hell was makin it smoke every so often *Story for another day* ... anyway, noticed a couple things, coolant reservoir tank is completely dry so :p gotta fill that. Anyway, on top of the reservoir tank there is a cap *obviously* and on the cap there is two rubber hoses comming out. One is going somewhere, I forget o.o ... and the other is going nowhere. It just hangs there? Is one suppose to not be hooked up to anything? I cant find anything it would go to near by, its just a short rubber hose that points to the ground. just wonderin if its suppose to be like that. I hope I explained my question clear enough, if not feel free to point and laugh. Again, I apologize if this is a stupid question and/or has been asked before. EDIT: Sorry, I don't know if this is needed but, I drive a 97 eclipse RS... I'll have to add that to my signature, sorry. -Josh- 11-15-2005, 10:25 AM The reservoir tank is an overfill tank, the one leading "somewhere" is coming from the radiator, when it gets to full that's where the coolant goes, the one going nowhere is for the reservoir overfill, if the tank gets to full, it spills out. Digitaleuphoria 11-15-2005, 10:28 AM Thanks for the quick response. I was a little worried when I saw that. Thanks for putting me at ease. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
