Well yesterday I had to goto the bank.....ended up ruining my brand new black bumper, alll because I decided in a split second to miss the oncoming car going the WRONG way out of the bank, and instead of letting fuckhead pay for a new front end...i hit a curb about 8" high. I wouldnt be to worried because the radiator and everything seems fine...BUT now everytime i start to accellerate from a stop i can "feel" something...really hard to explain. but its like you feel like your dragging something or like your wheels have 1" lug holes and it takes the bolts a second to lock into place or something. the wheels look fine...the only damage i can see is to the actual plastic bumper an the I beam support looking thing(the only thing u can really jack up on the front side., Anyways any ideas or suggestions?

take the bumper off and inspect for damage in all those lines

thats the weird part...everything still looks fine. its just a weird feeling and its only in forward. not reverse. its almost like the transmission is trying to catch up to the flywheel.

Did your wheels hit the curb? You could possibly have bent a rim. It could be on the inside of the rim and you wouldn't really see it.

that "I-beam" has a motor mount attached to it. when my motor mount wore out, the motor would move around a tiny bit and it made the car drive a little funny. replaced the motor mount and it was good to go. if i were you, i'd replace that beam and get a new mount and see if that fixes things.

edit: what looks like what's happening is that the holes for the i-beam bolts are sort of "stripped out" or enlarged from being smashed into the curb, so when you give it gas, the motor and tranny turn a tiny bit (because they are now able to move cause of the enlarged bolt holes on the front bolts) until it hits the end of the play in the motor mount and then the wheels finally grab and off you go

yes it's bolted on in a couple of places. there are 2 bolts on the front....2 on the motor mount and 1 or 2 in the back and then you can completely pull the whole thing off. replace it and the motor mount and your good to go.
