Motor Problems: Coolant residue on oil cap

Noticed a tic/chugging upon acceleration 300 miles ago. I thought it was an exhaust leak. Slight coolant usage w/o drips, no oil in cooling system and oil looks good. Unmistakable smell and residue of orange coolant on underside of oil cap. Nasty brown residue. Motor starts/ runs smooth. Possible loss of power. 90K miles. WTF?

Your intake is leaking internally (residue on cap)
The ticking is from the lifters..replace the lifters and gasket

My oil and coolant looks perfect but it is definetly coolant on the cap. Also found drop of fluid on underneath side of bell housing is coolant.

Couple of other questions... The ticking I'm assuming are from the lifters not functioning correctly and not an exhaust leak (which I haven't been able to find).
What is going on with the lifters? I feel there there may be a loss of power with the engine but it runs so smooth (except for the minor noise) that it's hard to tell.
Lastly, what are the dealers doing about this issue. My Burb is a 99 with 90K miles bought used from a dealer. Is there any reports of factory assistance?

Thanks for your info already. I am involved with KTM Talk and other forums for such info with different subjects. Your patience and effort, along with the other participants sharing their knowledge is hereby recognized. Thank you.

Your intake is leaking internally (reason for coolant residue on the oil fill cap)
The coolant mixes with the oil and will cause the lifters to collapse.

Dealers are fixing the vehicles, there is no factory assistance (especially on a used vehicle)
