ok this is the deal.

the muffler kept coming loose and making noises so i took it to meineke
http://www.franquiciashoy.com/booths/521582.jpg

the guy looked at it and told me that i needed my bracket/hanger replaced
http://www.franquiciashoy.com/booths/521582_3.jpg
(i'm not white though)

so i asked him how much he said $65....

:loser:<------ i gave him one of these and said i'll shop around

so i hit up advance auto parts
http://www.allianceconst.com/images/Advance%20Auto.jpg

got the bracket for $8.40 plus tax....

and replaced it myself today.

i noticed that while the muffler was loose, the heat of the pipe burned up a cord

i see the cord, but don't know what it could be

what does the cord connect to?

could it be just a piece of rubber tube shoved in there by the previous owner to quiet a rattle?

it looks like battery cable, but i can't figure out why there would be battery cable there

really like the post though, clearly expresses your question and makes me want to help

good luck with that

ACTUALLY, i think that small black cable underneath that hose is your E brake cable,

i guess the only way your gonna get a guaranteed answer is to follow it and see where it takes ya

hey colinlesser.... regarding the following:

Lightning Audio 10" Sub And VR3 300watt Amp

how much did you pay for those? cuz i'm getting a 1200watt sub and a 1200 watt amp for a 160 and i was wondering what actual fair market value is.

no they're not stolen i just have good friends with hookups.

That little one below the one that got burned is the e-brake cable. It looks like an anti roll bar or whatever you want to call it. Go under there and poke on it. Is it metal? If so, dont worry about it. If its wires, then I would check it out and make sure none of them got split.

Its just a rubber boot that goes over the emergency cable, which is made of steel wires banded together. Not much to worry about, it'll just get a bit dirty, if anything...
