Anybody have any ideas? I am trying to help out a financially challenged friend by keeping her car going. The light recently came on, and it feels to her that the transmission is shifting harder. The Emergency brake is not partially on, (she has never set it). It does not show up when I pull the OBD codes either. There apears to be no dipstick to check the auto tranny fluid. ANY IDEAS would be greatly appreciated!!

Last year, my wife was cut off on the highway in our 99 LS and ended up driving into a large snow drift.

The build up of snow behind the front facia caused the rad fan to work much harder to pull the air through, it eventually needed to be replaced.

We knew this because it kept blowing the fuse.

However, every time the fuse blew, the ETS OFF light would come on, but no OBD codes presented themselves.

After we replaced the motor, we never had the problem again.

Hope this helps.
