I have a 95 blazer that started losing power and then died. after waiting a few moments it cranked back up but didnt have much go. It would turn over but just would not crank. After replacing battery it started right up and ran for a few minutes. I thought my problem was fixed. Next morning it wouldnt crank again. If i hook it up to jumper cables it runs. But take the cbles off and it wont crank. Alternator?

More than likely... Also check your connections from the bat to the starter and from the bat tothe block just to make sure you don't have any corrosion.

Just to add to what Rlith had said. I agree with the alternator going bad. You also want to check the battery first. I had a battery that was open inside. You can jump start the car, but you removed the cables. It would die. Replaced it and the alternator was fine.

Check for current draw from the battery when everything is turned off.

Also, is the battery dead when this occurs?
